As far as Tim Burton goes, I normally LIKE the kookiness of his films but I DO realize not everyone appreciates it. That having been said, there ARE times when I just steer clear of his films because I'm just NOT IN THE MOOD for that kind of a film.

Johnny Depp is one of the few truly bankable artists left in Hollywood at this point, because I think (like John Cusack) he's a generally likeable PERSON. Depp's chameleon like ability makes him such a great actor, but I think he should be careful the films he takes on because he doesn't want to become "type casted". I'll always like his Capt. Jack Sparrow character but must say that I really liked him in Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas (but then I'm biased as I'm a huge HST fan) and Chocolat.

I can't stand that man's movies.

I was watching the Harry Potter movies from the beginning. The first one was so cleaver, and loved the details...then as the movies were made, it just was lacking. The last Harry Potter part 1 and 2 were...well...could have been better. And what do I see as one of the creative consultants????...... Tim Burton!!! UGH!!!!! Well no wonder!!!! /blink.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':blink:' />

I thought Skyline was extremely lame. Splice was really lame.

OMG, Skyline was bad! Not a fan of that movie. Didn't see Splice. I like most of Tim Burton's work, and I loved all of the Harry Potter movies. Chamber of Secrets was my least favorite.

Okay, I know I'm "tardy to the party" on this one, but now that I have a little more free time on my hands, I actually sat down and watched "Paul". For those of you who don't know the story is about a couple of British Sci-fi geeks who come to America for Comicon and decide to take an UFO type road trip from San Diego through the American Southwest checking out Extraterrestrial points of interest in a rented RV. I'm a huge fan of Simon Pegg (Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, Spaced, Scotty from the JJ Abrams Star Trek reboot et al) and add Pegg's costar (and real life friend) Nick Frost and I'm IN!!! This movie sucks and I'm hugely disappointed.

There was a potential here for some greatness, but the writers and casting folks REALLY dropped the ball on this one. I stopped the movie at the 45 minute mark and put on Hot Fuzz instead because it's just a better film and I was trying to administer a mental enema to remove the fecal residue left there by this steaming cowpie of a film. I'm not even sure I have the intestinal fortitude to finish it out.

BOOOOOO i want a refund!

On Monk's nanner scale, I give this 4 out of possible 10 nanners....Pass on this one unless you are either too drunk or high to find the remote to change the channel and even then leave or crawl from the room.

Has he ever done a movie recently that he wasn't in a wierd make up? Geesh you see him as Tonto? I wonder if any Indian group is going to protest a non-indian playing that role? Where is Wes Sturdi? He could have played Tonto.

Probably any movie by Tim Burton. The only one I enjoyed was Batman with Michael Keaton. Other then that I think he is one of the weirdest people around and I just don't get his art form.

I really was not impressed with SKYLINE. My son and I went to see it and we left just going, "what a waste of time..." But the movie just, well sucked.

We both went, "We should have seen RED." -- Which the next weekend we did.

GO SEE >> RED << great movie!

Exactly my thoughts on Skyline. A waste of time. I actually hate that movie now.

Karen, I saw Restrepo a couple of weeks ago on Nat. Geo. channel and I highly recommend it also.
