See – we're a group of not easily scared people. Which begs the question – what kind of a book/movie would be super scary??

well, for me scary isnt slasher type movies.

i find more subtle things scary. also like

i mentioned, if i know (or think) that it

is a true story, that makes it scarier for

me.

i'm not easily scared by movies, but

books, yes i can be easily scared /smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

yeah, books get scary, any of stephen kings earlier works are pretty scary, after the accident, not so much. I dont know what happened to him when he was hit by that car, but whatever it was, he seemed to have lost something.

Now that you mention it, as a younger kid, I was extremely scared by movies like Friday the 13th and Nightmare on Elm street. Those movies scared me much more than movies like The Exorcist and Amittyville Horror. LOL

Now, nothing really scares me. Some leave that eerie feeling after the fact, like The Ring, etc., but aren't really scary in the true sense of the word.

For me, the scariest movie of all time is still Fatal Attraction.

Probably because I was such a colossal man-ho at the time. Glenn Close's character reminded me entirely too much of at least 3 ex-girlfriends.

Potential bunny-boilers, every last one of them.

I fart, therefore I art.

Candy Man!

I wouldn't wanna meet Tony Todd in a dark ally… and that voice!

I still to this day leave the room when ever that name uttered more then once, and it goes with out saying i wont listen to the song i could give two shi+s if he makes the world taste good.

The entire time I was reading the Excorcist I had nightmares, really graphic horrific stuff. The day I finished reading it, the nightmares ended.

Reading The Amityville Horror at 15 was a creepy experience, then saw the original movie at a drive-in…nuff said! Poltergeist got to me cuz I had a big tree outside my bedroom…and clown dolls REALLY freak me out.

I started reading Stephen King with Salem's Lot and kept on up to Gerald's Game. I remember many times reading all night because if I put the book down, I had to turn the lights off!

Seven horrified me because it played on the most base human behavior imaginable.

Oh my, I forgot that I also read "The Amityville Horror" as a kid. The book was released in September, 1977, but I never read it till the Summerof 1978, at the age of 16. I had just turned 16 two months prior. The scene in the book which got to me most in the book was when the father went out to the boathouse to check on things, and on the way back, when he looked up into his child's bedroom window he saw peering back at him a pig with red glowing eyes. That scene really got to me!

If you think you can trust your government, then just ask a "Native American Indian."

Interesting. My husband has been reading a number of demonology books; dating back to the early 1900 and on. I picked one up to read, and I too, had horrific nightmares, dreams, visions, etc. It all ended when I put the book down. I told him I wouldn't read another one, that's now his forte'.

My uncle said that he read the autobiography of Stephen King. He mentioned that he used cocaine a lot during his early books and some of them he doesn't even remember writing. I don't know if he kicked the habit after the accident or before but that was when his style changed.

Not paranormal but JAWS. My uncle decided it was time for me to watch it when I was (4 or 6 I dont remember). Yeah, GREAT movie for a little kid that always goes in the water. I still do, but when I was little Id even hear the jaws music when I jumped into a pool. Id just swim as fast as I could to the top of the pool. I have gotten better pushing the thought that a shark is going to eat me. At least until those sharks came by a few years ago lol! But most of the time when Im in the water Im having too much fun to worry about if there are sharks around. Besides, in CA your more likely to step on a sting ray and that hurts!

Remember, dogs and cats are better than kids because they:

(1) eat less,

(2) don’t ask for money all the time,

(3) are easier to train,

(4) normally come when called,

(5) never ask to drive the car,

(6) don’t smoke or drink,

(7) don’t want to wear your clothes,

(8) don’t have to buy the latest fashions,

(9) don’t need a gazillion dollars for college and

(10) if they get pregnant, you can sell their children ..

The Shining scared me the first time I saw it.

OMG, as a kid, watching the commercial for The Shining on TV, I was horrified. Seeing Jack running down the maze with axe in hand with that look on his face. EEK!

Four words, Robbin Williams in drag.

As for books, Stephen King's Salem's Lot gave me nightmares when I read it at 10 years old.

Another book I read when I was around 9 or 10.

The Shining never bothered me. Maybe it's because I can relate.

Antichrist, the movie.

Very disturbing, and shocking.

I'm still trying to understand it, also.

I watched and my face was /ohmy.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':D' /> during the movie.
