:Le sigh:

. . . NO ONE insults my Ron, no one!

Pynki, I admire your loyalty and your willingness to defend someone you care about, even if it is a fictional character. There is not nearly enough of that in this world, IMHO.

If you are half as loyal to and defensive of your family and friends, they are lucky to have you in their lives.

Mrs. Weasley is my favorite character in the books because she has that same trait – you'd better not mess with anyone she cares about either. /laugh.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Laugh' />

I haven't seen the movie yet, but I have read all of the books.

Easy there chica…i used lower case "V".

Was listening to Stern this morning on Sirius and there was a news item that was saying that Harry Potter wands from the Hogwarts attraction at Universal Studios Orlando are outselling Mickey Mouse ears. Apparently, the park is doing some incredible business and the merchandising is off the chain. Lines for the gift shops are quite extensive (guess that means J & G will be investigating…especially if Nearly Headless Nick, Peeves or the Bloody Baron show up) and it's putting a crimp in Disney's bottom line which is in direct competition as they're near each other. Thought you'd enjoy that. The wands seem to be the best sellers, but a general rush on official swag is the norm.

Why doesn't that surprise me? Oh because Harry Potter is F%&@ING AWESOME! I want a wand. Screw that I want a Hogwarts letter! I'm a witch I swear.

2012? Seriously? I survived Y2K, 9/11, 6/6/6, 9/9/9, H1N1, & Swine Flu. BRING IT ON!!!

Aww thank you! It's funny you should say that, I've been told countless times that I'm loyal to a fault. But what can I say I'm a Hufflepuff.

"NOT MY DAUGHTER YOU ****" Love that woman. She is my Hero and who I want to be when I grow up! and I'm not just saying that, I really do strive to be more like her.

She's wonderful, isn't she? Warm, loving, canny, funny and loyal. Most of all, she has such a kind heart – I love her for the way she took Harry into her family and treated him just like her own sons, even scolding him when needed.

Loyalty and courage are the two qualities that I admire most and Mrs. Weasley has them both, in spades.

I can't wait, watched some trailers for part two.

We're going to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, the week of Mother's day.

My daughters are taking me, yippee! Just finished making plans, I'm one lucky mother. /laugh.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

Yeah, Islands of Adventure, Universal Florida. We go every couple of years, last visit they were just building Harry Potter World, and I tried to break in. /laugh.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' /> We'll do Disney for four days, and Univeral for three. I can taste the Butter Beer already, we'll get fit with new wands, and chocolate frogs for all. I'm so geeked out!

Remember, dogs and cats are better than kids because they:

(1) eat less,

(2) don’t ask for money all the time,

(3) are easier to train,

(4) normally come when called,

(5) never ask to drive the car,

(6) don’t smoke or drink,

(7) don’t want to wear your clothes,

(8) don’t have to buy the latest fashions,

(9) don’t need a gazillion dollars for college and

(10) if they get pregnant, you can sell their children ..

I'm so old that the last time I was in universal studios, we were on a tram ride and JAWS jumped out of the water and tried to eat me! Circa, 1982 /huh.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' />

Jaws might be a little dated now, but that ride is a constant on the universal tour….if i'm not mistaken, the shark's name is Bruce. In an aside, I'd like to say that with all the advances in special effects can't they take some of these old movies and update the effects. Man some of these older films do NOT age well.

Not for nothing, I'd rather have the Potter world then Disney's California Experience out here in Anaheim.

Just wanted to jump in this thread to say that I'm a huge Harry Potter fan. And I'm pretty proud of myself for influencing my 7 year old to be the same way. He just read books 1-3 in the past few months (he has a high reading level for his age). He is begging me to let him read the next book, but I'm worried that the subject matter (mainly the dating and realtionships) might be too much for his age?

I can't wait until the DVD comes out and I can't wait for Part 2 of the Deathly Hallows.

I'm hoping we can take a trip to Universal to visit the Wizarding World in 2012.

Welcome to our little corner of Potterverse…Pynki is sort of the headmistress over here! I'm sure you'll run into her at some point. I don't know what to tell you about appropriate subject matter for a 7 year old not being a parent myself. Always felt part of the genius of the books was her ability to "mature" her writing style and subject matter to mesh w/the ages of the kids in the books AND the reading audience as well.

I think it depends on the child. I didn't have to worry about this as my daughter was about the same age as the characters when the books started.

She grew with the characters.
