OfflineKnowing was, well knowing when to turn it off.
/wink.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':P' /> But, I kept watching. The ending was really bad!
Harry Potter rocked. Very well done! Waiting for HP in IMAx on the 27th.
A great film is Coraline. We are a artsy family and I collect animation art.
The stop- motion animation is stunning!
The Blu-Ray has a 3 D option. Watched the movie both ways!
Your children will love it, and the film has a great story line.
Looking forward to Alice In Wonderland.
The previews look great. Rickman is the Cheshire Cat, good call!

I'm looking forward to District 13 and the stop animation 9 (which might be another Tim Burton project). There are trailers for both on the al gore's internets.

Thanks, Monk. I'll have to check these out, never heard of them. Noticed Burton is doing Dark Shadows.
Depp is Barnabas Collins. I remember rushing home from school to watch Dark Shadows and get my vampire fix. /biggrin.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
Looking forward to Terry Gilliam's Imaginarium Of Doctor Parnassus.
Depp helped finish the film after Ledger's death, and I lost track of if it's even complete.

You probably watched Snow Cake? I thought he was great in the film.
Remember first seeing Rickman in Die Hard.
He looked so much like Pete Townshend then, the beard.
During the movie I kept thinking, why is Pete in this movie. /laugh.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':P' />
That's when I became a Rickman fan. /biggrin.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':D' />

Die Hard … one of the best action movies ever!
OfflineJust caught "The Haunting of Molly Hartley" on DVD. This movie sucks, all the way around. I mean it really was horrible, and this coming from a guy who loved such B list movies such as white noise 2 and lost voyage. Bad acting, lame plot, irrelevant character development, cheap scare devices and lack of direction made this one leaving me at a loss for a hour and a half. By the way, with "haunting" in the title you would think there would be a ghostly element, but…nvm. It sucked, lol

Did you ever see Dark Harbor, Closet Land or An Awfully Big Adventure?

OfflineI think we're going to watch Let the Right One In. Mindy reviewed it in the mag a while back.
It's a 2008 film based on the 2004 vampire fiction novel by Swedish writer John Ajvide Lindqvist.
"The story centers on the relationship between a 12-year-old boy, Oskar, and a 200-year-old vampire child, Eli, of indeterminate gender. It takes place in Blackeberg, a working class suburb of Stockholm, in the early 1980s. The book focuses on the darker side of humanity, dealing with issues such as bullying, drugs, theft, pedophilia, prostitution and murder as well as the obvious supernatural themes."
I'll report back later.

Upon further review, he placed himself on a very strict diet and cut out alot of unhealthy stuff…amazing!

Offlineso he says. could be the gastric bypass but he doesn't want to admit it.
Well that could be, but Kiwis are not cut from the same cloth as most of us. I heard a report that down in New Zealand (where he's from) there was talk of passing legislation about citizens weight. As a country that has socialized medicine, they deduced how much money was being spent taking care of people with weight related issues and decided to begin a "wellness" campaign aimed at helping it's citizens acheive a healthier life. I know, personally, that it IS possible to lose that kind of weight naturally as I've done it in the past. It takes alot of restraint and desire but it can be done. It's not rocket science and people know what it takes they just don't WANT to do it. Basically I cut out all the crap I KNEW I shouldn't be eating/drinking. No fast or junk food, no soda or beer. My knees were tore up from injuries and aggravated by years of being overweight. The only regular excersize I could do was walking. So I would "power" walk 4 miles every day and 8 miles on Saturday & sunday. Crappy weather, didn't matter. The weight came off quickly and after a while i was able to do the 4 miles in 45 minutes so timewise it became a non issue. The secret is desire to lose the weight or at least it was for me. Obviously everyone's case is different people have various and sundried health issues, but you can't give up hope. The way I looked at it was I didn't get fat overnight so the solution wasn't going to be an overnight thing either and the surgery just wasn't an option. I got tired of the snide comments, not being able to shop in a normal store (at normal prices) and feeling ill all the time. For me, it boiled down to being honest w/myself and stop making excuses. I'm not going to use the Nike slogan or cable guy catch phrase, but at the end of the day it was all about just getting out there and doing it and seeing it through.

i'll try not to take that personally.
as someone who has tried VERY hard to lose weight, it isn't easy.
at least not for me. i've used restraint, i have desire and i certainly
do know what it takes, you're right it's not rocket science. but it
doesn't mean that it's going to happen. i've been lucky enough
to have lost quite a bit of weight over the last 6 months, but i feel pretty
crappy that apparently i must not be restrained enough or have
enough desire since i cant seem to lose it all. i've hit a plateau
and no matter what i do i've become stuck.
