Saw The Hangover II- oh, my God. Very funny stuff!

We saw that this morning along with Pirates 4. I'm not sure if it was better than the first but it was definitely as good as the original. Monkette laughed so hard that she had to go get over a coughing jag she developed when watching the Stuart meeting the dancer scene. As far as Pirates 4…it was entertaining but I think this should be the last one. I can't put my finger on it exactly, but while Johnny Depp is the best part of the movie (s) too much of a good thing if that makes any sense. It's hard for a pirate movie to NOT be cliche, but it's going that route. Interesting to see the actor who portrays Mr. Dursley in Harry Potter as King George but I think the show really missed the Elizabeth Swann/Will Turner dynamic, oh well, just my opinion. I think we're going to see the Bridemaids tomorrow, possibly Thor too.

******************TRAILERS*********************

Shockingly, NO HARRY POTTER TRAILERS (boooo).

STUFF THAT LOOKS INTERESTING:

- Super 8 (Bring it on already!!!)

- Cowboys and Aliens (CAN'T WAIT)

- Xmen First Class

- Green Lantern

- Zoo Keeper (not a Kevin James fan, but this looked funny)

- Transformers 3 (is it just me or does Megan Fox's replacement look like a grotesque blow up doll caracature)

- Not a fan of Jason Bateman but his two upcoming films both looked promising

a- Change Up (Freaky Friday-esque w/Ryan Reynolds)

b- Horrible Bosses (costarring Jennifer Anniston & Colin Farrell)

- Fright Night (an updated version starring McLovin and Colin Farrell)

- Don't be Afraid of the Dark (Guillermo Del Toro film…always interesting and freaky).

- Mr Popper's Penguins (new Jim Carrey film. Think Liar Liar/Happy Feet/March of the Penguins mash up. I'll predict a hit, but it won't get my $$)

but there's some stuff that I just don't get…

-Real Steel (the latest Hugh Jackman project, essentially it's Rocky but with robots instead of actual people boxing and features children.)

-The Muppets (really? the world couldn't live w/out another muppets movie? It'll prolly do business but won't get any of my cashish. Let me go on record right here and now and say this has nothing to do w/my conspiracy theory beliefs about Jim Henson's death. The Muppets during his lifetime were hip and interesting. Prior to the Disney deal that is to say and then the franchise just got flogged to death and became soul less)

Bridesmaids is pretty funny. I'd give it 3.5 to 4 out of a possible 5 nanners. The dress fitting scene is a hoot!

Finally saw "The Rite" with Anthony Hopkins. My 20 year old niece and I both really liked it.

It was a pretty good movie.

Got around to seeing The Green Hornet. It was okay, but the story line had a ton of holes in it.

Imagine there's no heaven, it's easy if you try.

One would think the biggest hole in the show would be the person who cast Seth Rogan as the Green Hornet…but I digress…(sorry Seth, you know I love ya dude but c'mon, a super hero movie?)

When you're the writer you can cast yourself in any role you want. I hadn't seen this movie, hadn't had the urge to. I didn't even like the Green Hornet/Mythbusters episode at all.

Didn't realize he was the writer, that would explain it..sort of. Anywho, just stopping by to say I'm off to see Xmen First Class, review later on!

I think there are a ton of good movies out there right now. I'm so glad that the comedies are actually making me laugh! Yes, Monk the dress fitting scene in Bridesmaid was crazy funny and when Stu met the dancer, well I'm still speechless…

The upcoming Jason Bateman movies look to be very funny too. Whodathunkit that he would be ca$hing in on the summer blockbusters!

Definitely gonna see Super 8 and Cowboys and Aliens! Can't wait to get my big, old bucket filled with popcorn goodness and drink down that gigantic diet coke!!!!!

Decided that I didn't want to see Green Lantern, the promos just don't entice me enough. Oh well, I guess I need to cut the grass sometime this summer /wink.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' />

Just saw Xmen-First Class and I'll tell ya, I think it was the best of the Xmen movies so far. Aside from a slight "continuity issue" in the plot (I don't want to ruin anything) it was really well done. Easily the best of the 4 movies I've seen this week. Just a heads up…there's no "easter egg" at the end don't agonize yourself, go right to the bathroom. 4.5 nanners out of 5.

That's good to know about the ending or lack thereof one after the credits.

There was some different trailers shown w/the Xmen First Class that deserve mention…

- Girl w/the Dragon Tattoo. Well here we go, there's already been a Swedish film which I may have to check out. The book(s) were fantastic and I HIGHLY recommend them but w/this caveat…reader BEWARE, there's some seriousily dark stuff in those books and they are violent on so many levels, PLEASE BE MINDFUL. Not sure how I feel about the casting choices for this film (Daniel Craig as Mikael "Kalle" Blomquivst) but we'll see how it goes. Yes I'm one of those people who gets a little defensive w/his favorite books when the film industry gets ahold of them.

- Rise of the Planet of the Apes…had a feeling it was a POTA film before they revealed it as such.

- Friends w/Benefits…Mila Kunis & Justin Timberlake, it looked funny, not sure if I'm buying Woody Harrelson portraying a gay man…

It looks like it's going to be a very interesting movie season!

Just got back from "Super 8" the latest JJ Abrams offering. If I could summerize it best it would be the Goonies Meet Cloverfield with a little ET thrown in for good measure and that ain't a bad thing. It's set in 1979 and it was like stepping back into a time machine as i was about that age of most of the characters. Seeing the old cars and bizarro fashions from that era…the wood grained EVERYTHING LOL. On the Monkey nanner scale, I'd give it a solid 4 out of 5. The soundtrack was decent too.

Also saw the trailer for Captain America…I'm not sure how I feel about it. It's being plugged as the original avenger.

I saw the trailer for Captain America when I saw Thor. Didn't look that bad.
