Spousal unit and I went out last night and saw This Means War (great movie but not the reason for this post). They showed a trailer for a new movie coming out called Prometheus.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1446714/

Just watching the trailer I recognized the ship and the way they were spelling out Prometheus on the screen. Went home and checked IMDB and confirmed my suspicions.

This is the prequel to Alien. I am so eager to see this movie now. And it's directed by Ridley Scott.

June isn't coming quick enough.

I've been looking forward to Prometheus for a long time. The trailer looks brilliant. There's also talk of the storyline being very Lovecraftian, which appeals enormously to me.

On a totally unrealted note, I'm really looking forward to the USA release of "The Awakening'. It was released in the UK months ago and looks very creepy and spooky. My English friends that have seen it absolutely loved it. I think it is finally due for release in the USA sometime over the summer.

Not a huge fan of the Aliens movies, but that Awakening one looks great…The woman who played Dolores Umbridge from the Harry Potter movies is in it….might check that one out.

I plan on going to The Avengers sometime in the next week. Also am thinking about Prometheus and Battleship. Not sure about Battleship though but only know it has a Battleship and aliens. I wonder how they are going to work in the fact that there are no active duty battleships in the Navy /blink.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> But hey…I like my movies with things that go BOOM

Only problem I have with some movies nowadays is the over use of 3D.

3-D has been nice in some aspects. Movies that over do it just make me sick. Those that barely use it have been good. A good example that I can think of was Avatar. It looked 3-D just for the depth preception and not to have things jump at the audience.

Well, Cameron did design special cameras for that effect.

Yep. I just think of when Journey to the center of the Earth came out and it was the first new 3-D movie we saw. They just overkilled it horribly with it. I had no urge to watch Braedon Fraser brushing his teeth and spitting into the sink onto the camera.

Yeah, we try to avoid 3D if possible, more expensive. Now, Star Trek in 3D would be awesome.

I couldn't wait to see "The Woman in Black". I saw the play in London and it was one of the scariest things I've ever seen.

Spoiler>>>>>>>>

I was so disappointed in the movie. As usual, they totally overdid it and lost all the subtlety that made the play so effective.

I'm looking forward to "The Awakening".

I am dissapointed that The Fantastic Four franchise didn't do better. Anyone know if they even plan on doing more FF?

No clue. I know Chris Evans who played the Human Torch also played Captain America. I see on IMDB that they are working on a Captain America 2. I don't see anything for another Fantastic Four.

Aside from Viktor Von Doom the casting for the FF was hideous, surpassed in poor quality by the script writing. I was PSYCHED for the Silver Surfer so that made the second one palatable, but overall FF 1 & 2 were only slightly better the Bana's Hulk…Ghost Rider was another comic book favorite that just didn't work for me. THIS version of the Hulk with Mark Ruffalo is by far the best of the big screen ones (always have a soft spot in my heart for Bill Bixby/Lou Ferrigno TV show though) I think they should reboot or just completely BOOT the FF. Terrible and it hurts me to say that as I was a fan of the comic book.

I actually met Lou Farringo at the 2010 NYC Comic Con Got an autographed pic. For someone that is probably in his 60's now he still is solid. Then again not sure if he is using any happy growth juice. But either way he is still a monster….lol and I wouldn't want to piss him off.

I believe Lou is about 60, Arnold is older. I think the only thing "extra" Lou can be accused of using is hair dye.
