You know the interesting question that really needs to be asked here? Can J-Lo survive another career hit if American Idol tanks this year? It seems as though she's been enduring some major blasts and that combined w/the time she took off to have the twins…may want to stick a big fork in her!

I'm sad to report that Monkette just insisted upon torturing the crap out of me last night by BLASTING AI so i couldn't miss it. Here are my initial impressions…

-Someone needs to tell J-Lo that she's a JUDGE on a talent show centered on singing and this isn't a fashion show for her personally.

-Even though he comes off hella creepy at times, Steven Tyler actually is the best part of the program

-Randy Jackson is just so wishy washy, c'mon dawg grow a set

-I'm starting to loathe these reality talent shows for the same reason I've grown weary of the Olympics….EVERYONE HAS A BACK STORY. Can we just stick to the meat and potatoes here and not venture off into fantasy land where everyone should win the competition, not for the their talent or ability, but for their horrific back story or personal drama scene, PLEASE!? They passed a girl through to Hollywood because she cried and was a fan of J-Lo's performance and singing in Selena (which coincidentally she DIDN'T sing in).

BARF!!!!

If Simon has his way, his new show (X Factor i think it's to be called) will go head to head w/Idol.
