Don't forget … Idol is on tonight! The 12 women sing first.

Good lord, I heard one of the contestants mangling a beatles song last night…and Ellen praising it? Didn't realize ALL of Ellen's ear was tin. The woman seemed to have an ok voice, but bad song selection.

I saw one contestant – the one with dreadlocks and the harmonica. Crystal Powder socks or something like that. I actually like her quite a lot and think she has tremendous talent. Didn't see the rest. I was watching Lost.

I was underimpressed last night. I think most of the ladies were nervous.

I actually thought Soxy was less than compelling on one of my favorite Alanis Morissette songs. She is somewhat original, with the harmonica neck thingie, but she really didn't even sound half as good as the original on that song.

I guess my favorites were Michelle Delamor, Paige Miles, Lilly Scott, Didi Benami, Katie Stevens. But Dial Idol has Michelle toward the bottom of their voting system, so that's a bummer!

I don't know who any of these folks are, I hear the clips in the morning on the radio and they don't always say who's singing.

Okay – so I watched idol the other night – when the girls sang. Normally I've enjoyed idol, but I've had trouble getting into it this year. Mostly, they were terrible. There were a few decent ones – but a lot of really bad ones, too.

Anyway – as I was watching, all I could think was, "Holy crap! It's the 80s all over again!" Seriously – I have pictures of myself from the 80s with that big hair and similar clothing to what was being worn on stage. I was surprised at how 80s it all looked. Apparently I haven't been paying attention to the trends…

OH wow. I think the girls are mostly all really good, and the best group of girls the show's ever had. The boys … yikes. Not so good.

There are maybe 3 or 4 good ones out of the 12.

When they get down to the top 12, we should pick who we think will be top 6, top 3, final 2, and the winner!

They won't have to worry about losing ratings when Simon Cowell leaves, the show will just evaporate on it's own thanks to this years' contestants. Really hideous!

Wow, I watched AI last night for the first time this season and was I disappointed. Only 3 performers impressed me and the others sucked, they were awful. I am so glad that I have not wasted my time on this season, I only watched it to see Adam Lambert.

Crystal, Mike and Lee. I thought they did really good, I really like Mike, he has a great voice and the song he sang is my favorite Elvis song.

Lee is one of my favorites too. I like Mike a lot as well.

Right now, I'm hoping Lee makes it to the finals and upsets Crystal.

'American Idol's' Crystal Bowersox Almost Quits; Seacrest Saves Her

American Idol contestant Crystal Bowersox has been a frontrunner on the FOX reality competition from the start, but she reportedly almost quit the show two weeks ago.

According to TMZ, the soulful dreadlocked rocker walked off the show and was ready to call it quits, when host Ryan Seacrest saved the day.

The incident reportedly took place in the parking lot following the taping of the show in front of a group of people.

Crystal reportedly told Ryan, "What's the point?" and said she couldn't handle the competition. The singer said she was planning on leaving and returning to Ohio to be with her family.

Ryan reportedly consoled the singer telling her, "The greatest thing I ever did was make enough money so I could buy my mom a house. You can buy your mom a house."

Ryan's little pep talk appears to have worked. Crystal remains in the competition and last week sang Elvis Presley's, "Saved," which yet again earned her very high praise from the judges.

That's either good or bad, depending on your perspective!

I lost a little respect for him when he was dragged thru the trap door of the stage at the Worcester Centrum because he was wacked out of his mind and couldn't perform. We had seats in the 6th row so we were pretty bummed when the lights came on and we were sent on our way. Apparently, he has mellowed with age, hence the Idol gig.
