I wouldn't try to communicate with anything unless you have help from someone else, like an experienced investigator/researcher. Just my personal opinion.

I sometimes wonder if spirits are in some way connected to objects. I like to shop Goodwill for items that I can use in my various experiments which could be scientific, alternative medicine or food preparation in nature. I don't believe that any of the items that I have in my home have any spirit connected to them.

I do recall seeing a movie years ago about Eastern Air Lines Flight 401 that crashed into the Florida Everglades about 40 years ago and about 100 died but there were also survivors. Here is a decent web site about paranormal activity that occurred on other Eastern Air Line Tri-Star flights. Many of the parts from Flight 401 were salvaged and installed on other Tri-Star planes. The ghosts of the Flight 401 pilot and flight engineer were seen by many people, including the flight crews and passengers of other Tri-Star planes. With that many witnesses, how can skeptics dismiss the sightings of these ghosts on other flights?
http://www.near-death.com/ghosts.html

http://ghostsnghouls.com/2012/.....ed-planes/ Flight 401 is listed here as are four other flights. There are a couple of interesting comments below the stories.

For you movie fans, I found the entire movie based on Flight 401. Do know that when a movie is based on a true event or book, not everything that is shown in the movie is factual.

BTW, there's a haunted chair in a house called Baleroy Mansion in Chestnut Hill, Philadelphia. Apparently the gentleman who owned the house had to keep it roped off because everyone who sits in it dies very shortly after. I wouldn't sit in that chair, either. It has already claimed at least four victims. Why tempt fate?

I read a story about that place a long time ago- I wish I could remember where I read about it. I started reading books and articles about hauntings when I was just a little kid so I lose track. I vividly remember the part about the brother's reflection being a skeleton and then dying shortly after. Still sends chills down my spine.

As for if I'd sit in any cursed chair- No way. I'm not a gambling woman.

I think it goes back to what I said before. We all die. Bad things happen to all of us. If one of those things happens in close proximity to something like sitting in a "cursed" chair, being cursed, or being told by a psychic that something bad was coming, then confirmation bias kicks in. Same goes of good things - but you almost never hear about the fact that every time everyone tries on a certain pair of shoes they find a quarter or something. It's not spooky or notable like dying after sitting in a chair.

This reminds me of the "7 Years of Bad Luck" if you break a mirror.

Wow ... you know how many years of bad luck I should have had, with all the mirrors I've broke??? Wow I think I should be 'dead' ... /blink.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' />

Curses are subjective ... it's like the gal in another forum who was told by a Tarrot Reader: Something "bad" will happen to you within the next three months." Well guess what? Yup, you guessed it - something bad happened every month! But the last day of the 3rd month - she was convienced that all the other 'bad' built up to this. She had a fender bender.

She all but psyched herself out over this reading.

Doesn't matter if it's cars, chairs, rings, mirrors, salt, pepper, a penny ... it's all mind over matter. If you pay it no mind, it won't matter. If you give it thought ... well .... 100% of these curses are self-filled prophecies / curses.

Why would anyone want to willingly believe in a "curse"?? Never made any sense to me ...

While that chair may or my not really be cured, I believe there are things out there that are. So I'm steering clear just to be safe. If it is cursed, Id believe that its only cursed for some. Curses have to be pretty specific, and therefor you cannot curse the entire population for all time. So if it is cursed, those that died must have something in common. And Im not risking having it too.

As to the electric "death" chair....that thing creeps me out every time I see it in pictures or on TV. I cant explain it but *shivers* ugh.

Well, there was an old X-Files show, or maybe it was one of the newer "Outer Limits" shows from the mid-nineties, but I do remember specifically this show being on around 1994 - 1995 time-frame. Anyway, in this particular episode this guy worked on a boat which brought in lobster. The story took place on the East Coast, near the Boston area, I think.

One night while bringing up the boxes/traps, there was this old doll inside, and when he turned it over, it's eyes opened and it would say, "Mama." He took it home for his daughter(bad choice). His wife washed the doll's dress and they cleaned it up for their daughter. Then, it wasn't long until the doll began to do really strange things around the house, and in the end, well.......just try and find the show, because I don't want to spoil it by telling the rest. It was a very scary show. I have never forgotten it!

Also, if you'd like to read a really good horror book about a haunted object, then I would like to suggest reading "Heart-Shaped Box" by Joe Hill. A "very eerie" read! /smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' />
