I got the invite for the weekend haunt, and it looks very interesting...I am thinking of going to it as a quick get away with the wife....we just have to arranged some sitters for all the youngins.....I really hope to go as it is only 2.5 hours away from us....

I hope so too. I think it will be an interesting event for several reasons and some things that most events don't do.

I have also had a few people comment about the price but if you compare what you get to other events or conventions like Phenomenology 103 then it is actually cheap.

Ok no celebrities here but I think the people will enjoy the history of the hotel, the history tour of town, some of the stories and who the possible ghosts might be. Not to mention the free breakfast for 2 and the Sunday Brunch before check out.

I will also do my best to make the Ghost Hunting and presentations of Ghost Hunting through the years, Ghost Stories and the Ghost Hunting Equipment presentations as interesting as I can. Although this will be a serious type event, we want people to have fun too. However, people need to keep in mind that this is not classes. I don't tell people what to do or how they should do it. Anything I talk about is how I do it and why. Don't want people to think I am trying to tell them how to do things.

So, I hope you can make it and if you do please introduce yourself during the meet and greet or event registration after you check in.

7:30pm-9pm – Ghost Stories with the GhostBreakers – Grand Ballroom

This could also be a question & answer session…10pm-midnight – Ghost Examination with the GhostBreakers – Grand Ballroom

This is where we will have divided the attendees up and they will go with various members of the group to our pre-determined hot spots. The “Hot Spots” we can use…won’t be the same ones that we use on Saturday. I think we should save the best for last. Maybe rotate groups – every 45 minutes….

Hotels are so paranormally interesting. If any places in the world should be haunted, it is definitely hotels. Just think of all the things that happen in hotels: weddings, honeymoons, illicit sexual encounters, political intrigue, people hiding from each other, the law, the mob, etc. Not to mention suicides - a lot of people choose to commit suicide in hotels so their next of kin won't have to find the body or do the cleanup. Unkind to the poor hotel staff, I know, but that's the fact, Jack. All of these are strong emotional experiences that I would think would draw a person back after death.

Frankly, every time I walk into a hotel bathroom I wonder if someone has killed themselves in the tub. Morbid, I know, but not that unlikely, statistically speaking. I don't even want to think about the history of the mattresses. A death is the least of my concerns. ICK!

Incidentally, I think it's great that you take along the person who had the personal experience when you research an area. It makes sense that a spirit might duplicate activity if the person they interacted with originally is nearby. I truly believe that some people draw spirits so I think this is darn smart.

I agree with you 100% and it helps bolster my theory based on my years of study. In all my years of study I have found more activity in and around places where people had pleasant memories in life vs the places of popular belief.

Hotels are a great place for experiences due to the reasons you stated and the fact that the human energy continues to fuel the activity. However, it is much more difficult to do an examination on a working hotel than one that is closed.

This is hands down one of the best investigations I've ever heard of. Absolutely phenomenal- It's so great to see a group that is truly professional, respectful and qualified getting the cool investigation.

Your kind words are greatly appreciated. This came right out of the blue. It was such a surprise that I thought it had to be more than coincidence. Who knows.

I am heading up again this Saturday to try and recreate this old 1940's photo. It seems obvious on the surface but some questions have come up as to the possibility it could have been faked. I don't believe it was faked but lean more towards the possibility that the photographer was just taking a photo of the Tap Room in the early morning or evening and the person didn't want to be photographed so they stood or sat behind the pillar.

I am having a little problem with the differences in the shadows of the pillar and person since they would have to be close to each other for this photo to have been taken without the person being seen. The room appears bigger than it is.

I wonder if they were training for demolition of a steel mill in Germany or something like that.

When I was in Schweinfurt, Germany I was on a historical tour which showed us the ball bearing factory that had been attacked by the Americans. So this kind of assault had to be trained for. Good catch, Ryan!

All we need to do is let the director know to schedule it. They have been very accomodating and nice to us. The hotel staff has all been made aware of us and have been very helpful to let us go wherever we want.

So far we have done one full blown 2 day exam with all 7 group members and some hotel staff. (we always take along the client/witness or people who had the experiences)

In between we do spot checks individually or in pairs. Like I am going up for 24hours this Saturday and then 2 other members are going up overnight on Sunday. We have one more 2 day with all members and a few spot checks before the event. Hopefully we will get some good stuff. LOL

I agree with wrighty on this one. I'm sure that they appreciate your group's professionalism, otherwise they would never be so accomodating, (no pun intended). Keep up the good work and let us know if you come across anything interesting. I have to live vicariously thru you and the other investigators because I am way too chicken to do this!

These photos remind me of the movie, The Shining. At the end the camera pans the room and you see old photographs like this and you see Jack Nicholson's character right there smiling ear to ear!

People can call 610.625.5000 to make their reservations. Some already have and it is first come first served.

The package includes: overnight accommodations on April 1 & 2…breakfast for 2 on Saturday, brunch for 2 on Sunday…and all of the paranormal activities & presentations. Not to mention that the town has a lot of old buildings, quaint shops, eateries, etc to explore in your free time. The hotel is also giving a walking history tour of the town in the package.

Also, if you can't stay overnight you can inquire about their pricing for the day events and what that entails.

Here is a photo of their tap room around 1940. They have had stories and ghost hunters coming there for many years. The room is now the office of the Hotels Marketing and Sales Director. So far it has been fun and I think their weekend will be also. More to come.
