On August 18th 2011 I had gone into the bunk room at around 1am and just laid down in my bunk when I noticed a dark figure standing in the corner opposite of where my bunk was. After a good 5 minutes his dark silhouette looking figure started to approach my bunk, I thought it was one of the other firefighters coming over to play some kinda prank on me so I prepared to roll out of the other side of bunk. This Shadow figure of a man walked up to my bunk leaned over as if it where looking to see if I was asleep. The shadow figure remained in this position for about a minute and then proceeded to walk back to the corner from which it came. I then sat up and said "I see you asshole, your not slick" It just stool there in the corner not moving so I said " go back to bed, it's late " then got up and walked over to where it was standing fully expecting to find one of my colleges standing there when I got with in 5 feet from the silhouette, it just desolved before my eyes.

On April 10th 2012 I was working night shift again when a fellow fire fighter frantically woke me up at approximately 3:30am say that he saw the shadow figure walk from across the bunkroom and past my bunk, I thought I was dreaming and when I woke up at 6 am and went down to the kitchen to get my morning cup of coffee, I asked if he had woken me up in the middle of the night or was I dreaming and he got all excited and proceeded to tell what he had seen.

Once the word of the shadow figure in the bunk room had got around to all 4 shifts, a total of 9 other firefighters came forward to tell their stories of the shadow man in the bunk room. There are 4 fire fighters from other fire houses that where detailed to our fire house who had come forth with their experiences with the shadow man in the bunk room. Several members will no longer sleep in the bunk room and two have since transfered to a different firehouse.

The powers that be will not grant me permission to setup a DVR and IR cameras in the bunk room and let them run for several nights for a month and see if I can capture this shadow anomaly. After doing some research, I found that there had been one documented death at our firehouse back in 1928 and the our firehouse is build on the remains of the great Baltimore fire of 1904

We went to a local small cemetery a couple months ago and it was full of shadow children. I had great pictures, but my computer crashed and I lost them all before I had a chance to save them to a disk. I cried when I lost all the evidence. I will tell you the story anyway, even though I can't prove it now.

There was a school close to the cemetery, and that field was probably the playground at one time. This would have to be in the 16 or possibly very early 1700's if it was before the cemetery was there. There are rumors of an accident or tragedy, everything from fire to a school bus crashing there, but I don't know what really happened. I can tell you that these shadows are definitely children, though.

The night started with me hearing what sounded like someone small brushing past a big yucca plant that was on a grave. When I looked to see what it was the plant was moving, but no wind and no one close to it. There were only 3 of us there, and the other 2 were on my other side. Not long after that, we started seeing a black mist moving between the stones. As we walked around snapping pics and doing EVP's, the mist started following us and getting closer. After about an hour it seemed to either tire of us or decide we weren't going to harm anyone, so it got more solid and formed a shadow person instead of unformed mist.

We then realized there was more than one. It wasn't long until we were surrounded. They ranged from 2 to 4 feet tall, and felt solid when they touched us. The ones not touching us or following us were running and playing at one end of the cemetery. One that was 2 foot tall walked beside me most of the night, and held my hand several times. I can't explain it any other way. Those of you with kids or are around small kids know what it feels like when one comes up and slips a hand in yours. That is what I felt. We took a break in the van, (the only place to sit down) and as we were getting in we heard a small child call "mommy." I told him we weren't leaving, and we would be back out soon. A small shadow stayed by the van until we got back out.

I had another one come up and lean on my elbow. It reminded me of when my nephew would give my arm a hug, like he wanted to hug me but not give me the chance to put my arm around him. I'm sure some of you know what kind of hug I'm talking about. Not long after that my sister was turning and bumped one with her elbow.

We also kept hearing and smelling a dog, though there wasn't one anywhere near there. The cemetery is surrounded by a huge cornfield that was empty at the time. At first it growled. I decided to talk to it like I would any strange dog I meet. I guess it worked because the dog stopped growling. We heard it pant several times and heard moans and other dog noises after that. It seemed to stay near a group of stones, which looked to be a family. We didn't experience anything of the dog in any other part of the cemetery.

A sheriff stopped to see what we were up to. He didn't stay any longer then he had to. He kept looking into the cemetery with his flashlight like he saw someone, and got nervous when we told him we had seen and heard people. He said if they were talking to us, he didn't want to be there. His car wouldn't start at first, then kept dying after he moved forward a few inches. He inched down the road that way for a while. I called out, "all right now, let the nice policeman leave so he can do his job." It may be just coincidence, but his car ran normally after that.

When we took our last break of the night, my sister and I was leaning against the van while our uncle went around to the other side to pee. The van rocked like he flopped against it hard. At least we thought it was him until he asked why we were rocking the van. The way the moon was shining, it was at our backs on the other side of the van so you could see the shadow of the top of the van on the ground in front of us. When I saw the shadow of a head peering over the side of the van, I thought he had climbed on top and was going to scare us. Just as that thought formed, he walked around the van and joined us. Then my sister pointed out the shadow, which she had seen too. It was then joined by a second shadow. We checked the top of the van after we got home, but there was no sign of anything being up there.

I had pictures of the shadow children, including pictures of one that liked playing with the camera. He(or she) would come up real close like they were looking into the lens, then back away. They looked like dark shadows, but you couldn't see through them. I snapped the pictures as quickly as my camera would let me, and you could have used them as a flip book to see the movement. You understand now why I cried when I lost all of the pictures.

My uncle has since left the group, and my sisters and I have started our own group. He had the video and EVP's, so now I'm not sure where they are at. We had sounds of the kids playing, the dog sounds, and a few adults and kids talking to us. I had asked the one who kept holding my hand who they were, and a little boy answered with his name. I think it was Mark. I only got to hear it once, and although it was clear I can't remember what the name was for sure now. I'm not old, I'm just memory challenged.

Anyway, that was my best experience with shadow people.

That is an amazing account of an awesome experience. Sorry you lost those pictures. They would have been neat to see.

What about formless shadow blobs? In my nieces old house, she and others claim to have seen these dark blobs that seemed to adhere to a particular wall. They would be from two to four feet tall and were supposedly a very solid looking black. Their movement would typically be sinking into the floor then reappearing or racing back and forth very rapidly. At least those are the claims. I had never witnessed them myself.

Interesting you bring that up. We have actually photographed the type of "blob" I think you are referring to. I was hoping to post a link of those photos, but it appears that we have taken them off of our website. Basically, they were pictures, taken at night, outside in someone's back yard, with a 35mm slr digital camera. The flash was certainly bright enough to produce a pretty bright picture, but in the bottom corner of the picture (actually it was several pictures) was a big black mass (blob). You couldn't see through it. It didn't resemble a typcial shadow in which you could still see certain details and contours of the shadowed area - it was more like a inpenetrable mass. Never the less - I wasn't convinced of it's anomolous properties so I tried desparately to reproduce it. Since there were two to three people taking pictures simultaneously - I had theorized that someone who was standing directly behind the photographer had simultaneously taken a picture at the time the photographer was, thus taking a picture of her own shadow in the light of the flash behind her. So I, and another photographer, tried to recreate the scenario, synching our photo snaps in order to create a visible shadow in teh frame. Not only was it nearly impossible to perfectly sync up our flashes, but in the 1 out of a hundred tries we were able to successfully sync up our flashes, the shadow was weak, transparent, and definitively in the shape of the photographer - not the black blob that we captured in 5 to 6 clips. This was that particular investigator's last investigation with us as she began to have some severe issues at her home (walls shaking, black shadows, poltergeist type activity) following that night. I have no idea what those pictures were of, but the shape morphed and change with each progressive picture. I'll have to find those and post them here and get your guys opinions.

I am not one to trust images of shadows unless I was there to validate it.

As a kid though the corner of the eye thing was daily in our home but I think I know why on that. My mother was a spiritualist in the sixties and a practitioner of witchcraft. We had several types of Ouija boards in our home that had been used many a time.

The people that asked us to come live in an old home (100+ years old), in a small town. The lady had told me she saw not one, but several shadows throughout the day, sometimes by themselves, sometimes in groups of a few.

The interesting thing is that one of the clients actually drew an outline of what they saw (shadows about 3 feet tall, moving quickly, with something resembling a 'hood' that kind of poked from the back). I didn't think much of it, except I remember thinking it was odd that the other client said something to the effect of: "don't forget about the little tail part of the hood" or something similar.

Anyway, here's a video clip we took during the EVP session. We were actually asking about what the shadows were. About the same time, we found a faint evp that sounds like it says "we're still here."

But some of you claim to witness these in light, and in front of you. I believe ghosts manifest themselves based on their will, whether subconscious to them or not. That's why same may be balls of light, dressed in whatever style clothing, missing limbs, or even shadows if anything at all. This wouldn't make them evil, but for whatever reason, they project themselves as shadows. Maybe they feel that they are unnoticed. Maybe they don't want to be noticed, but still want to be a part of the physical part of the world.
