With the investigations that we've been doing, it's mostly boring. It's hours of boredom with maybe a few minutes of excitement. It's the personal experiences that get the heart going. I've had one during an investigation but I debunked it but it still got my pulse up. We had another one that was hard to explain, it wasn't exactly paranormal but a human condition that was eerie and very hard to figure out.

Personal experiences just hardly happen when you are ready.

I thought I would ask this question as plain as possible. Just straight forward. This should be interesting.

I certainly do, but with common sense.

Exactly. I don't think most people realize how boring an actual investigation is, and how much patience the investigator is required to have in order to conduct the investigation properly. All the taping, filming, sitting in the quiet, pictures, use of other machinery.

You know, I'm still a "maybe" on this one, even though I've had some pretty interesting experiences personally and also during investigations – even though I have footage of some things I can't explain… I just don't know! /laugh.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Laugh' />

I believe n "ghosts" My experience occured when I was 5 or 6 in NJ my family had a 2 story colonial and it was night time. My family was down stairs watching TV and I went up to the second level to do something and when I reached the top of the stairs I saw a "solid" black figure rush from one room to another so being young proceded back down stairs (I don't think my feet touched the steps /laugh.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> ) and told my dad so he went up to check it out but did not find anything /unsure.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

I might be lying, but I'm telling the truth

Hi all! Im a noob here and I thought this was a good thread in which to introduce myself. /biggrin.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Laugh' /> I voted yes, I have had an experience which made me believe. Although I do still hold a sceptical viewpoint. I love all things paranormal and this website is top /biggrin.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':D' /> . Thanks to Heidi for directing me here /wink.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':P' />

For millions of years mankind lived just like the animals. Then something happened which unleashed the power of our imagination.

just curious: what distinction do you make between 'spirits' and 'ghosts' (some use the term interchangeably)…

I do. TAPS said they exist, so they must…LOL. Sorry I had to…..

As far as "Ghosts", as in a spirit of someone who has died that is still active in our world (my definition…not Wikipedia), YES.

I don't get that 'we are energy, and it has to go somewhere' theory…….

Our bodies burn fuel to create energy, which is used for work, just like an engine — when the engine is off, it is shut down and no longer produces, there is no 'energy' left over……..

Just like dead plants, our bodies nutrients go back to the earth……..

As nutrients aren't we feeding another cycle and being converted to energy there.

In turn I believe the nutrients formed by that consumption will eventually be utilized

as " fertilizer" in another cycle that will convert to energy etc………. That is just the

way I have always been able to follow that line of logic. I subscribe to a different personal

theory, altogether, though that doesn't include our physical chemical and biological properties

at all. /blink.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

Interesting thought, so it appears we would be recycled.

All living things would, during consumption.

Yes -- but why do some believe this 'energy' in our body turns into a spirit upon death??

It's this belief that leads into the thought that an EMF detector can locate or even communicate with ghosts……….

…Dr. Obvious I believe if we interchange the term "Spirit" or "Energy" the confusion could be kept to a minimium.

Some oriental philosophies read ( Chi or Auras ) they seem to think it is energy or a persons essence. So I believe

what you are asking is why do people believe that the energy imparted from us upon death is intelligent? If that is

the case it would merely be belief of a personal nature. In no way supported or disproven by any, truly, scientific

study.
