If they know the rumors of this house is "haunted" … well … I know a few firemen that would set this house up.

See the thing is – the comman and smoothness of the window was just to … well .. "smooth" .. to "on cue". The few paranormal investigations where I've seen things move without human help -aka- possible paranormal were never right on command and were never "smooth" -- they were 'jerky' like the 'ghost/spirit' did indeed have to work at moving the solid object.

I would ask the fire department – local – show them the video and don't ask them if it's a 'set up' – ask them "how they did it" because you are thinking of staging a Halloween House this coming 10-31 and want to get some ideas.

See if you let them know you know – and it is … they'll come forward. If they did not, you will see the surprise on their faces and then you have them willing to help you find out what is going on in their training house. /biggrin.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' />

Yes this is valid. I know several organizations that raise donations through the Haunted Houses and they have already begun work on and for this year.

ST, I'm no expert on gathering evidence and filming, but I have had many personal experiences and some of them have involved doors opening and shutting very smoothly. I've also seen doors open/close creakily and jerkily and I've had them slam in my face, too. All of my upstairs doors once slammed simultaneously. No windows open, no drafts. no explanation.

I don't have any idea why it happens in such different ways at different times but since I have seen them all with my own eyes, I know that they do. Maybe it has to do with the strength or power of a spirit at a given time. Maybe it has to do with their mood. I truly don't know.

I wasn't there that night and I am obviously not familiar with the building or its location so I can't say with any certainty whether it was real paranormal activity or if someone set it up as a joke, like JJB suggests. From what you are saying it seems unlikely to me that it was a gag, but it is always a possibility. There is no limit to the practical jokes that men will play. Was the house close to other houses or properties and therefore likely to get visitors? If so, they could easily have set a camera up to capture the results of their prank. On the other hand, what would be the point of setting up such a prank if the house is set far away from other properties and is unlikely to be visited? It seems like a lot of effort to go to with very little payoff for them. But as JJB says, there may be other motives.

You are going to have experiences that no matter how hard you try to document, are still going to be doubted. It's just the nature of the beast. Some are more debunkable than others, but they can all be explained somehow. Sometimes you have to be satisfied with just knowing what you know and give up on proving it to other people. This is what I have learned from the past and this site. There are some great people here that want the real truth. See my town has no bars not much open but Meijers only and no one walks or does anything after 10pm. The schools are top in the state and health wise in the state. So not many is out doing ghost stuff. I can not rule out the wind cause it was 20feet high and I am very sure the wind could of been blowing up there but not at my height. That is the inly thing to me now that would make sense. A few days later the door was on the ground from a wind storm. I went back many times after and not once did i run into anyone around that old home. It was well known for training for the fire department. In my story I went to other places close and never then did i see anyone out but the police. And believe me they scared me alot. I was by Meijers on a raining down pour night and I had my audio covered with my coat. Parked in a parking lot I went back after it recorded and a cop pulled over and asked what I was doing I told him the truth and I know he thought I was a nut. I am trying to communicate with the young 18 year old girl with my recorder he said just be careful and nodded his head like what a weirdo. Almost all the time I did this there were no one around cause of the late night. So All I know is to me this open a new chapter in my life I will never forget and if it was the wind I had very good timing. Thanks for all you're responses I really do listen to them. I respect you guys cause you all are not like any other site I have been on. You can be tough when needed but never do I feel bad other sites have actually drop me cause they all thought I was cheating and was getting to many reads correct. Sad when you put you're heart and soul into something and no matter what you do you are labeled a cheater. But this site I will listen I will take all the debunking cause I feel now i am not that excited guy and back then I would of got hurt and felt bad. But now I am a time where I need answers and want answers. And this is the most intellegent site I have been on. Most sites they either agree all day or boot you off. I feel the same way about this site. Yes, we goof around and sometimes we offend each other but it seems that everyone really tries to take the high road here. For me it feels like even if we don't agree, it's ok. No harm, no foul. I totally agree with you about just having a place to share your stories and ideas is good for you, catharsis IS good for the soul. There are some folks on here that are very knowledgeable and we can all learn alot from their experiences and even their mistakes. Take care.
