OfflineHey, I know him (I think, or else I'm going to look like an idiot)!! That's Thomas Kinkade, isn't it? My parents collect his cottages and have a couple of his paintings.
You're right!
We bought one of his paintings at his event here and he signed it on the back and drew a sketch of an upcoming painting he is going to do. That was a surprise as he hasn't drawn a sketch for people before. He said he did it because he had to cancel the last event he did here at the last minute.

What a neat experience for you to have Mr. Kinkade do that for you. That's really great!! One of a kind art from someone of that nature in the artistic community. I'll have to tell my parents when we fly home to visit them for Christmas. They'll be jealous!
OfflineOk. Years ago, Michael Learned, who played the Mother on the tv show the Waltons was my acting coach at the American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco And YES – her first name is pronouned just like the guy name. Her last name is pronounced Learn – ed. Another of my teachers was Davis Dukes. He played the slimy lawyer in the tv movie "Rose Red". Unfortunately, he died shortly after filming that.
Met Janis Joplin outside of Winterland Ballroom (that was a run down place where they gave "local" rock shows). She was chain smoking and swigging from a bottle of Southern Comfort. I think it was the summer of 1969.
That really shows how old I am (eek!).

OfflineOkay, here are a few of my awesome experiences…
Years ago I used to manage a Holiday Inn in downtown Cleveland and was able to meet some pretty famous celebs, such as Bo Diddley, Mario Andretti, Scott Glenn, and my all time favorite Paul Newman….who was one of the nicest people you could ever meet.
Because of my husbands business we have been able to meet a few of our customers from around the country that include Rick Hendrick (NASCAR), Jeff Gordon (NASCAR), James Hetfield (Metallica), Jesse James, and Jimmie Vaughan.

that's so cool /biggrin.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':P' />
my husband works at the race track in NH, so he's been able to meet
quite a few of the Drivers. I went to the track once with my brother
and got to meet my favorite driver Sterling Marlin. It was just a
meet and greet, so I didnt really count that haha.

I had a pic of me and Sterling, I'll have to see if I can dig it up haha
It was funny, me and my brother's girlfriend were in the line to
get tickets to see Marlin later in the day. My husband came along,
said hold on, went to the back of the trailer, talked to the lady
running the meet and greet. She came out and handed me and
Cathy two tickets before they started handing them out, so we
didnt have to wait in the line any longer /laugh.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='
' /> . We got some looks.
Of course that didnt change the fact we had to wait in the line
to actually MEET him for hours haha. For a 2 second hand shake
and autograph /biggrin.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':D' /> . It was worth every second

Some things are just worth waiting for…
About 5 years ago, we went to Charlotte for a race and that was the first time we met Rick Hendrick, who is a totally awesome guy,
and we got a private tour of all the racing facilities, and he got us "Hot Passes" for qualifying, so we sat right on the pit road wall and watched them qualify. Then we got a private tour of the garage area and the racing trailers of Gordon and Johnson. It was alot of fun.
