If you were sentenced to death, for whatever reason, what would your final meal be? More difficult than it seems, ain't it?

It would be one of two meals:

Orange juice, scrambled eggs with cheese, bacon and a big stack of pancakes with real butter and maple syrup, washed down with coffee with ALOT of half and half…

or, and this is still my favorite…

Fresh garden salad with bleu cheese dressing, a HUGE T-bone or ribeye steak, twice baked potatoes with extra cheese and sour cream, something green like asparagus and devil's food cake for dessert, washed down with a nice red…Layer Cake Shiraz or Avalon Napa Valley cabernet.

Nope….not difficult at all.

Pan-seared foie gras on toast points with caramelized pears and a balsamic reduction with a 2001 Chateau d'Yquem Sauternes

Wild mushroom risotto with shaved truffles & asparagus with a glass of Archery Summit Arcus '99 pinot noir

King crab legs with drawn butter with a Salon 1996 blanc de blanc

Strawberries with aceto balsamico tradizionale extraveccio

Creme brulee with raspberries and a 40 year old tawny port

I could die a happy woman.

Holy carp! Top this, if you dare. I might add a raw-bar appetizer, but that's just me.

Well – I went back and forth between the Salon and a Krug….it was a tough call. I think I made the right choice.

Have to try both to venture a reply.

Every year on our anniversary, we open a bottle of good champagne. We've had some amazing ones, including both of the aforementioned bottles.

I'd have gone with the Krug, but that might be because I had the flu during the anniversary when we had the Salon.

As a last meal, I'd go for the all-you-can-eat at Skippers. I't's not that I like fish & chips that much, but after milking it for a couple of days I'd be more than willing to die.

I fart, therefore I art.

I, on the other hand, was FORCED to drink the entire bottle of Salon because a) my husband got sick in the middle of our anniversary b ) I had just spent hours cooking a delightful dinner of lobster beurre blanc and wild mushroom risotto with truffles when he became ill and c) it was a $250 bottle of champagne and someone had to drink it – it's not like you can save opened champagne for another day. I was the happiest wife with a sick spouse at the Urgent Care clinic that night. Perhaps that is why I have such a fond memory of it. The Krug was **** good, too.

To be honest, I don't think I could enjoy a LAST meal if I knew it was my LAST.

Last meal order: A large bowl of "one last chance please soup" followed by a

basket of "two steps towards the door " melba toast and a whole bottle of isn't there

an experimental treatment for this chardonnay.

Or find a food that will make you really, really sick. Sick enough that they can't kill you.

Interesting question. I saw a movie called Manners of Dying (Roy Dupuis, super talented, super hot Canadian actor), in which he played a convict going through the final motions before he was executed. One of his last meals was a bunch of whole potatoes. I won't tell you what he did with them. See it if you can find it.

Eh, I got nothin'
