I heard of this on DT but all evidence seemed to point to giant catfish has anyone looked into this?

I might be lying, but I'm telling the truth

Never heard of the Naga, but watched something similar on giant fish, on Monster Quest.

All I know is that the Naga were serpent deities in the Hindu and Buddhist religions. Back in the 70's there was a creature called the naugha that they took the hide from and used it to upholster car seats.

A friend of mine had a bumper sticker that said "Save the Nauga's, Buy Leather" /laugh.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Laugh' />

/laugh.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Laugh' /> That stuff was so gross and sticky back then. No air coditioning.

I remember having marks on my legs from it, and the noise your legs would make getting up from the car seat on hot summer day. /laugh.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Laugh' />

Mini skirts were big then, too. /tongue.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Laugh' />

.

There was a segment on River Monsters about the Goonch Catfish in the Kali River in India. It had reportedly attacked a few swimmers and pulled them under. Jeremy wade did manage to catch one weighing 161 lbs but said he believed there were larger ones than that in there. /ohmy.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

"They insisted that the victim animals simply had died of dog bites from dogs or other animals. They suggested that disease might have been responsible for one animal's death. They denied that the victims had been exsanguinated, as many witnesses had claimed, and even suggested that the puncture wounds reported might be from barbed wire. Callers reminded them that some wounds were deep enough to reach into the victims' lungs, that the flesh was not torn as in dog bites, that signs of struggles were inexplicably missing, and that corpses did not decay normally, but their arguments were brushed aside. Also brushed aside were callers' attempts to bring extraterrestrials into the conversation.

When the recording ended. I rewound it and played it again and again. I still could not believe what I was hearing. The callers had the skeptics pinned against the ropes from the very first call." - Scott Corrales

It may eat only crabs & crayfish but sure would be intimidating to see one of these in the river. Would make a 6 foot Goonch look like a juvenile. Too bad they may be going the way of the dinosaur. /sad.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' />
