Someone needs to call Rob Zombie with the Mothman vs. the Gerbil horror flick idea.

I think he could pull it off? I don't think R. Gere would consider a role though !

pooperdooper I am gonna get right on that one! Zombie RULES!

Don't know who all saw it but MonsterQuest dredged up Mothman for one of their new episodes for 2010. They didn't bring much new to the table however. The label of Mothman seems to be equated with any winged entity of human size spotted anywhere in the world these days. They did have a 2009 report from Sacramento but the guy had just put his camera back in his bag when the creature supposedly flew off. At least they had Nick Redfern, one of my favorite crypto authors, on there as part of an investigative team checking out the LaCrosse Wisconsin area where there have been a recent rash of sightings.

I have seen photos and video clips across the internet of recent "mothman" type forms but strangely MonsterQuest didn't show a single photo or any footage. It was a rather mundane episode. /sad.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

"They insisted that the victim animals simply had died of dog bites from dogs or other animals. They suggested that disease might have been responsible for one animal's death. They denied that the victims had been exsanguinated, as many witnesses had claimed, and even suggested that the puncture wounds reported might be from barbed wire. Callers reminded them that some wounds were deep enough to reach into the victims' lungs, that the flesh was not torn as in dog bites, that signs of struggles were inexplicably missing, and that corpses did not decay normally, but their arguments were brushed aside. Also brushed aside were callers' attempts to bring extraterrestrials into the conversation.

When the recording ended. I rewound it and played it again and again. I still could not believe what I was hearing. The callers had the skeptics pinned against the ropes from the very first call." - Scott Corrales

I watched, and was thrilled there were new episodes.

I was hoping the show would turn around and be better.

The show was sort of a let down, I did notice there was no vid.

Just thought I'd share my own Mothman story- well, specifically about the Mothman Prophesis movie.

I was in college at the time. I had several friends coming over for a movie night. My one friend, we'll call him Ben, was going to be picking out and bringing the movie. He gets to my room, pulls out the movie and says "Here's the movie you asked for, Jill." I was rather confused considering I hadn't asked him for a specific movie- and I told him so. He said "No, you called me last night and said "Pick up the Mothman Prophecies." I said "Ben, we never talked last night. I imed you 2 days ago just saying 'Let's do movie night, your pick.' I've never even heard of this movie." In fact, no one in the group had.

He was completely confused- kept swearing I called him, I kept saying I didn't, that I had a super hectic week and didn't even use the phone all week- only instant messaging at times. I told him he must have dreamt it. My roommate vouched for me that I didn't use the phone last night and he began wondering if it was a dream, and we all sat down to watch the movie.

Needless to say we were beyond freaked out once we watched the whole thing. He said again "Jill, I swear I talked to you last night and you said "Could you pick up the Mothman Prophecies." I'd never heard of it, but went to the movie store and there it was." We ended up online looking up every site we could find about that and the MIB. At the end of the night everyone ended up staying at my place, too freaked out to go home.

Still can't explain it since I'd never heard of the movie and know I never made that phone call. I think what freaked us all out the most is that if this really was a trick of something paranormal- why did it pick us?

I still shiver just thinking about that night.

interesting especially since that is some of the phenomena reported in book and movie (people called with a voice of person they know but that person never called them) so that's an interesting "coincidence" (don't believe in em personally no coincidence to /cool.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Laugh' />

The movie was ok my buddhist brotha Gere did well but it failed to capture the extreme weirdness (UFO's, MiB, bigfoot, poltergeist activity, grinning man ghost, ufo attempt to kidnap a bloodmobile, the crash that never happened/skyquake etc) so i was greatly disappointed but i love Keel's account, fascinating.

Yeah- learning about people receiving calls in the voice of a friend really put us over the edge that night. The movie was practically uneventful compared to our own story lol. It did leave out a lot- especially the MIB.

Interesting story Jilla, thanks for sharing. I can understand everyone being a little spooked. /ohmy.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':P' />
