What's sad and extremely pathetic are the pics coming out of her daughter doing drugs. What a dumbarse!!! You would think she would have enough brains to figure out that drugs are bad. Ugly like her Daddy, stupid like her Mother. (yeah, I know, I'm not very warm and fuzzy)

Whitney was from the area that I went to college (the Oranges) in NJ. She had some local hits before breaking big beyond the NY metro area and the rumor on her was that she was gay or bi. She'd been spotted on campus a few times hanging out with woman who were out and proud. Personally, I don't care what people do it's none of my business, but if she was denying who she really was (like it's been rumored about Michael Jackson) perhaps this is what caused her so much pain? We've all heard the stories about her $50,000+ dental work (drugs had rotted her teeth out) and the pictures of her expensive home's interior looking like a crack house....to have such an awesome gift and let it go to waste...it's actually irritating.

Initially when watching the grammys I was irritated by the Whitney fest, if all these people loved her so danged much then why did they just sit there and do nothing? In all fairness and from personal experience I can tell you...if someone doesn't WANT to change, they won't. It doesn't matter how much they lose or how low they sink...terrible

Alot of these singers, actors etc, get so caught up in the fame or with the wrong people that they end up in the wrong crowd telling them what they want to hear or they may just be so insecure that they want to 'fit in' and end up with the whole drug culture and end up like her.

Tragic!

I remember seeing Whitney Houston open up for Jeffrey Osborne at The Greek in LA. I think it was in the mid-to-late '80s, before she became famous. She was AWESOME.

Sad news. I was in my teens when she first broke on to the airwaves back in the 80s and so even though I wasn't a big fan, her voice evokes many memories of fun times.

48 is no age to go. I wish she could have received the help she so obviously needed to beat her addictions.
