I personally am very grateful for the mouse. The computer one - not the rodent.

Very sad news about Steve Jobs.

(He didn't invent the mouse though. The computer mouse was invented in the 1960s and shipped as standard with German computers in the early 70's long before Apple existed.)

Steve Jobs was a great entrepreneur and icon and built the Apple brand into a hugely successful company and he will be missed by millions. He made technology cool to an awful lot of people and further developed and popularized many existing technologies through his pioneering ability and vision. For example, the Ipod revolutionized portable music listening when it was launched in 2001. I remember struggling to sell Diamond Rio portable Mp3 players back in 1998 - it wasn't until Apple arrived on the scene with their version of the product years later that Mp3 players become the 'de facto' standard way to listen to music on the move. He did the same thing with the iPad more recently; various Tablets had been on the market for years but it took the iPad to ignite the market to bring the app manufacturers on board to produce the content that would make it a 'must have' device for millions. Steve Jobs had an amazing skill and talent.

Rest in peace.

As a personal aside if anyone SHOULD be cryogenically frozen, it should be Mr. Jobs because he's someone who has made major impacts on our world and probably would've continued to do so. More so then Walt Disney or Ted Williams.

Fare thee well Mr. Jobs and thank you for everything....except I-tunes which for reasons I've never quite understood replicated all the music on my pc 4x and dang near crashed my system.

How sad.
