Last I heard he was in a borrowed crypt from Berry Gordy or something

/laugh.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Laugh' /> Seems to be the big mystery.

There's hundreds of takes on this, but no factual info.

Weird! /wink.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Seriously, does anyone care anymore? They are running this

crap into the ground like they did with Anna Nicole. /rolleyes.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

I wasn't a fan of MJ, his music or otherwise, so I was tired of

hearing about it 5 minutes after he was dead but here we are

what 3 weeks later, still hearing about this freak every 5 minutes.

Enough of the MJ coverage! If they want to report on important

and truly tragic deaths lets cover the 2 wars we have going on!

Sorry, I had to vent!

I have an idea that the phrase "weaker sex" was coined by some woman to disarm some man she was preparing to overwhelm. ~Ogden Nash

I used to like MJ and admit that I'm old enough to remember the Saturday morning cartoon for the J5 which was on back to back w/the Osmonds cartoon. I bought Thriller back in the day as well. I probably still have my original Thriller cassette around here somewhere. But after Thriller when all the wierdness began which I would say coinceded (sp?) w/the Pepsi commercial disaster, i started to lose my interest. It was overkill and I just didn't care anymore. I would never say the man didn't have talent but I just got to an age where I grew out of him and he just plain started being creepy. I can understand the initial hoohah surrounding his death, and in terms of a comparision to Anna Nicole. She got famous for her body & when that disappeared it was her train wreck of a tabloid life, that sustained her fame. That was it no talent or skills beyond gold digging. It was the controversial nature of her life and passing that garnered the attention there. Much like MJ. If I remember correctly, it was almost this bad when Elvis died. The big difference of course is the number of media outlets available to us now allows for this oversaturation and the if it bleeds it leads approach to the news.

Don't apologize for this stance, you're absolutely correct.

I agree Anna Nicole had no real talent, that was marketable anyway /laugh.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Laugh' /> I just don't think MJ's was as "amazing" as

it's made out to be. He has been doing the same dance moves for the last 25+ years and his music was bubblegum and

mediocre at best. /rolleyes.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Seriously, when we list the great music of our time are we really going to add "Billy Jean" and "Beat It" to the list next to John Lennons

"Imagine"? I'll concede Thriller was a cool video and even ground breaking for music video's at that time but beyond that, the song itself

imo, s*cked. The lyrics didn't do anything to reflect the times and it certainly did nothing to change music as we knew it.

The Beastie Boys and Nirvana did more to change music then MJ!

I know he had many fans and for them I'm sorry but I really am tired of hearing about this mans death. It amazes

me how people become saints in death while they were anything but in life.

Sorry Monk, I got off on another tangent there didn't I? /blink.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

My point was that I agree with you that MJ and Anna Nicole's careers were sustained only by the controversy surrounding these two

for the last several years of their lives. I just took the scenic route to get to it. /laugh.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Laugh' />

Again, no need to apologize, you make valid points. Were it not for Quincy Jones extorting MTV MJ's legend would not have hit the stratosphere like it did. So for me, that reason was enough to start dimming my view of MJ's stardom, tarnished it if you will. I agree that he's a fantastic entertainer and as far as videos go, I'm not sure how much of it was his "vision" but he was smart enough to surround himself w/talent. Shame he and Elvis didn't have the foresight to surround themselves w/quality people instead of the parasites they chose. Yeah, his music isn't that great and I think he's largely to blame for all the crap music around today! IMHO.

It really is a shame that these people weren't surrounded by people who really cared

about them as anything other than a money making machine.

Look at the way Howard Stearn fed and encouraged Anna Nicole's addiction. He

knew she had no real talent and the only way to make money off of her was to

keep her a train wreck.

I think the same was probably true of MJ.

Sorry, I unwittingly stuck an 'a' in there but yes, that's the one. /laugh.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

That's okay. Anna & the "k" used to show up on Stern's Radio program and they used to throw the "k" out of the studio cause he was such a pain in the @$$. I think he thought he was the star and when he tried to threaten Stern w/leaving and taking ANS with him. Stern would tell him, look, I don't need you on my show, so either you sit there and be quiet or leave the studio and let me interview Anna or you can both leave. That would shut him up. It was their exposure on Stern's radio show that led to the E show, because it was the same network his show used to appear on.

I can't imagine Howard Stern putting up with K's crap and he was right, he didn't need them on his show! ANS needed

Howard Stern and any other show that would give her another 15 minutes. /rolleyes.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

I couldn't watch her show on E because I would just cringe. It is unbelievable to me that the authorities

and that b*tch Gloria Allred will hound the octo-mom every time she sneezes but nothing was said about

what went on in front of Anna's son! Now that was dysfunction at it's finest! /dry.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

I will go to my grave believing Howard K was involved in her son Daniel's death as well.

Anna showed up highly medicated at a KROQ radio interview years ago. And the DJs were asking her why she always sounded high. Howard K flipped out and they both walked out in the middle of the interview. It was bizarre.

Well there isn't too much else to be said on the ANS issue really, she's dead and because of the train wreck of a life she led, there isn't likely to be any real closure. It'll be a miracle if sparkles or whatever her daughters name is isn't hopelessly addicted to opiates as well.
