Fox News and TMZ is still reporting him alive but I imagine that could change at any moment. Wow, two famous people died today. And Walter Cronkite isn't doing too well himself. It seems that this has been a bad year for famous people dieing.

3 in 2 days? That's gotta be a record, I know the celebrity deaths come in 3s. Ed McMahon, Farrah and now Michael Jackson?

I would say not too much of a shock as there's been whispers of his prescription drug addictions for years and we saw what happened to Elvis at 42. Jacko got a few extra years because he was in "better" physical condition. The toxicology reports should be interesting if they are ever released.

well, i suppose when you put it that way you're right,

not such a shock after all in the big picture, but still

a bit of a shock to hear it happened today. if that

makes any sense.

I'm shocked.

I was at his "Victory Tour" concert in Los Angeles in December, 1984 at Dodger Stadium. It was an awesome concert.

A talented, troubled man. I hope he is at peace.

Now, unfortunately, we will probably witness considerable legal issues and challenges to his estate. Elvis' estate made more money than Elvis actually did while he still lived. I'm sure that will be the case here as well.

Oh yeah – probably right on that one.

Yes – shocked is a good term. With Ed McMahon and Farrah Fawcett, it wasn't necessarily unexpected. MJ tho – that one is shocking.

How ironic that Farah Fawcett was the one that died from anal cancer.

For starters, I'm about as religious as Dawkins, so I don't pray. Ever.

I just figured that if any celebrity was going to die of something related to their rectum, it would be the wierdest, gayest man alive. Hence the irony. Sorry if you were a big fan.

Sorry, didn't mean to imply anything. Obviously I wasn't a fan of his(?) either.

I think I misunderstood what you were saying.

I was a HUGE fan of his during his Thriller days. So sad how troubled he was.

I was too Cheryl.

I had 45's of the Jackson V that we played on our record player. I loved his "Off the Wall," "Thriller" and "Bad" albums. And, his Billie Jean, Beat It and Smooth Criminal videos were amazing. Of course, his "Thriller" video was ground breaking and I'm still in awe of the dance sequence in that piece. He was a brilliant entertainer.

What happened in his later years and his alleged involvement in child abuse is disturbing in the extreme.

Along with all the legal finagling we will witness, I'm sure tell all books, movies, etc. will also not be far behind. Very sad all the way around.

So here's a question for all of the legal minds….

The alleged victims of Michael Jackson signed non-disclosure agreements when they settled out of court for the alleged abuse. Does that gag order continue in perpetuity, or are they released by his death?

I met Michael Jackson once while working at the Disneyland Hotel. He was a very nice and sweet man. He had such amazing talents. I still have the Thriller album. My daughter's High School band in the Fall of '08(in honor of the 25th anniversary of its release) did their rendition of Thriller. Here it is… It is nice to see a younger generation enjoying his music.

My deepest sympathy to his family.

I believe in regard to the 1993 case (the dentist's son) who made the first public allegation, a "Confidentiality Agreement" was signed. It would be common to have a clause stating "this Agreement shall survive the death or disability of signators."

I'm sure, knowing the caliber of the attorneys representing Michael Jackson at that time, all contingencies would have been applied to protect their very public, wealthy client. I've seen it happen before.

Time will indeed tell, however.
