Merlin Olsen died today after a battle w/mesothelioma. Best known as a member of the LA Rams "Fearsome Foursome" along w/Deacon Jones, Rosey Grier and Lamar Lundy. After his football days, he became a football commentator, wound up on Little House on the Praire, Father Murphy and a spokesperson for FTD florists.

I thought maybe a couple of pics would help jog a memory or two. I hadnt seen this thread and had no idea. He was a fav.of mine on Little house, and yes, i am, and always have been a big geeky fan of Little House.

I really liked him. He almost seemed like "every dad" after his work on Little House. Which, I unashamedly admit, was one of my favorite shows as a kid…along with Emergency….but that's neither here nor there. I hope he found himself in the right place..
