Mamie Margaret Stratton Waters

November 4, 1927 – August 12, 2011

Mom worked her **** off for 33 years to make sure mine was covered and fed.

She struggled to make herself understood for the last four years through the ravages of Alzheimer's Disease.

She won't have to struggle anymore.

Tee I'm so so sorry about this. You and the Big Wolf have been through so much with her care and health these last few years. She's at rest now and I sincerely hope with all my heart that you guys can find the peace and serenity to heal as well! I'll be thinking about you tonight and definitely raise a glass in both your names.

Ripple

If my words did glow with the gold of sunshine

And my tunes were played on the harp unstrung,

Would you hear my voice come thru the music,

Would you hold it near as it were your own?

It's a hand-me-down, the thoughts are broken,

Perhaps they're better left unsung.

I don't know, don't really care

Let there be songs to fill the air.

Ripple in still water,

When there is no pebble tossed,

Nor wind to blow.

Reach out your hand if your cup be empty,

If your cup is full may it be again,

Let it be known there is a fountain,

That was not made by the hands of men.

There is a road, no simple highway,

Between the dawn and the dark of night,

And if you go no one may follow,

That path is for your steps alone.

Ripple in still water,

When there is no pebble tossed,

Nor wind to blow.

You who choose to lead must follow

But if you fall you fall alone,

If you should stand then whos to guide you?

If I knew the way I would take you home.

So sorry to hear this news, it sounds like she lived good life despite the challenges of Alzheimers in the last years. Like you said, her struggle is over now, may she rest in peace. Sending prayers and thoughts of sympathy to you and your family. My condolences to all.

Very sorry to hear it.

My thoughts are with you.

Monk, three of my best friends played and sang this song at Mom's funeral Wednesday. It was a perfect tribute. Thank you for posting it as I had never really read the lyrics.
