Monday afternoon, she dove off of the dam at Peery's Mill on the Little River in Walland, TN resulting in trauma too severe for her to survive. She passed away on Wednesday. Kristal Lynn Spangler was 38 years old and will be missed by family and friends. RIP

We were really better friends with her brother, but had met the entire family. I think it is a shame that a woman so young is here one moment, swimming and doing things that 100s of people do weekly at that same spot every week of every summer, and then she is gone. I guess the old saying still goes:
