My oldest sister used to watch that show...I think I have some fleeting images of it bouncing around my head. I don't think it was as campy as the new Depp/Burton film is. Which is why I dislike anything by Depp/Burton. They take 'classic' shows/movies turn them into just a wierd form of whatever is causing their latest drug induced stupor.

If vampire actors can turn over in their graves Mr. Frid will.

I remember hiding behind my dad's chair and listening to barbabus collins on tv because I was too scared to watch it, or maybe because I wasn't allowed to watch it and I was hiding from my mom. It was great when scifi reran the series because I was finallly able to put faces to the voices I had listened to so many years ago.

Jonathan Frid the actor best known for his portrayal of Barnabas Collins on the Soap Opera Dark Shadows. He'd died from complications of a fall he'd taken his home in Ontario. He was 87. While I was a little young to watch Dark Shadows I remember it distinctly being the reason my sisters wouldn't let me watch cartoons in the afternoon after school. The new trailers for Dark Shadows with Johnny Depp look way campy, but funny.
