I love this place because it restores my faith that there are indeed like-minded and disciplined individuals still on the interwebs. From the time Ryan first introduced me to PUG, I knew I had found "a home" to freely express my ideas and thoughts without things turning into flame wars. There is something special here.

thanks

Andy

Thanks everyone – Andy, Kim, Ryan – all of you who are here. You make our site better with your presence.

Just to get back on topic for a moment. Here is a post from that site from the woman that tore it down. She is giving a very nice lady a bunch of c&#@%! and

I almost feel inclined to let everyone know the truth about the site but I guess it should just die.

She responded to a question.

I find the content of your post appauling Vicky, I really effin do. Its hard for Alan to let go of this site, he has put alot of time into it. Being a graphics designer and webpage builder, Ive put hundreds of hours into many websites to make them look good..and you dont see me gripin about it. If you dont trust this site, and want to gripe about your page going away, why dont you just copy and paste it all to the other sites your on? I have high speed internet and it would take me about 10 minutes to complete the transfer.

Unless you know the behind the scenes to this decision, dont guess at it. You obviously have no idea what this site means to Alan, and alot of the members. You make it all sound so cheap and trivial and " how dare you." REALLY? Thats pretty sad. To say your response to Alans blog is disappointing is an understatement.

So Vicky I tell you what..Im gonna give you an opportunity to put your money where your mouth is, and Ive talked to Alan about this, and he is aware of what you typed. You cough up 4 thousand ( $ 4,000.00 ) dollars and we will have attorneys sit down and write up a contract. Of course, the I Am Haunted logo stays with Alan. If you are interested, talk to Alan.

Here is one truth:

BTW, I am also a member of another paranormal "social networking" site. Not hard to figure out which one remains, lol. They do have some occasionally stimulating discussions, but they have their site on lock down. I uploaded some photos taken with my FS camera, and got a little message that I violated TOS by not changing the name of the photos (format from camera, and they also offered to do it but needed my pw). I had contributed a lot of time to reviewing stuff and helping out folks there and it just kinda ticked me off. Their photo upload TOS is a page long, and plain silly. An honest mistake, but handled poorly on their part to the point I am wrestling just cancelling my membership there. Too much iron-fisted ruling for my taste…

I mention that to once again express my gratitude for this place and the mixture of folks and mutual respect that is present here.

thanks

Andy

Thanks so much for your support Andy. It does feel great to know that we're achieving part of our mission here!

I thought it was high, HIGH time that people started getting paid to keep the site going. In the beginning, (and even before the beginning) there was so much work, so much money, so much everything, that I, personally, told MK and others that it would be nice to get some funds rolling for the site, not to make money, but just to pay the bills.

When I came back today and started reading through the changes, and seeing that there's an ACTUAL PAPER MAGAZINE now, I cheered in front of my monitor. It seemed so grown up compared to what it was the last time I logged in and spent some time reading. The old, familiar bones were still there, but much polishing had taken place. The content was even better, and back then I didn't think it was possible to GET better.

All this is possible because of people's monetary contributions and super hard work, no doubt about it. You guys should be proud; each and every one of you.

That said, I have to contribute something. LOL

Awww, thank you Sinnie. You were there from the beginning, and it was/is much appreciated. Any chance your new house is haunted? hehehehe
