Oh wow, he was young. /sad.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

"John Hughes, Jr. (February 18, 1950 – August 6, 2009) was an American film director, producer and writer, responsible for some of the most successful comedy films of the 1980s and 1990s, including National Lampoon's Vacation, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Weird Science, The Breakfast Club, Sixteen Candles, Pretty in Pink, Planes, Trains and Automobiles, Uncle Buck, Home Alone and its sequel Home Alone 2: Lost in New York."

**Heidi, I fixed the title. Is it OK?**

Oh, that John Hughes. I finally remembered the name from watching Dogma so much.

Rest in Peace.

Out of the movies listed above, I have most … National Lampoon's Vacation, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Weird Science, The Breakfast Club, Sixteen Candles, Pretty in Pink, Home Alone

I wish I had Planes, Trains and Automobiles. One of my favorite scenes involves this audio (I couldn't find video) …

Yep, time to break out the classics!

So sad! What a talented nice man, great loss.

RIP, Mr Hughs, you should us it was ok to be a geek, through warmth, humor, and pulling for the underdog.

The actors careers he started is so numerous. Gone way too young!

Let us not forget that Mr. Hughes also directed the Thriller video. Groundbreaking for its time. A great loss.

No, it was actually John Landis that did that. The double whammy of the twilight zone debacle and mj stiffing him from his royalties and fees…John Landis also did American Werewolf In London and the Blues Brothers…i think also involved w/Animal House.

He came up in my hood perhaps nine years beyond me. Don't tell my wife or she'll take my cigars.
