OfflineSigh… same here … I think I'm going to have to bust out the classic DVD collection I have and veg out with kleenex.
Out of the movies listed above, I have most … National Lampoon's Vacation, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Weird Science, The Breakfast Club, Sixteen Candles, Pretty in Pink, Home Alone
I wish I had Planes, Trains and Automobiles. One of my favorite scenes involves this audio (I couldn't find video) …

So sad! What a talented nice man, great loss.
RIP, Mr Hughs, you should us it was ok to be a geek, through warmth, humor, and pulling for the underdog.
The actors careers he started is so numerous. Gone way too young!

OfflineLet us not forget that Mr. Hughes also directed the Thriller video. Groundbreaking for its time. A great loss.
No, it was actually John Landis that did that. The double whammy of the twilight zone debacle and mj stiffing him from his royalties and fees…John Landis also did American Werewolf In London and the Blues Brothers…i think also involved w/Animal House.
