I had the pleasure of seeing him perform at the Newport Jazz Festival in RI when I was in college and also at the Hollywood Bowl during their summer Jazz series. What an amazing musician. He will be missed. Even now as I am listening to some of his songs like Blue Rondo a la Turk and Take Five my toes can't help but tap in rhythm. He was one of the all time greats in Jazz.
