Don Meredith passed away at the age of 72. Not too much info just yet, but he was one of the original Monday Night Football hosts (along w/Howard Cosell, Frank Gifford and Keith Jackson). He was a decent quarterback and retired prematurely just before the Cowboys became "America's Team". Best known for his variation on Willie Nelson's "Turn out the Lights" when a team was in the driver seat….He never audtitioned for the job, rather was given the job by ABC executives after viewing an interview he did w/Frank Gifford after the infamous 'Ice Bowl' game in Green Bay. While a hardcore Eagles fan, I would be remiss if I didn't admit that he was a great broadcaster and man who did things HIS way. When he got tired of it, he walked away and didn't return.
