They said he had an enlarged heart, they would contribute the edema. In other word, his lungs wouldn't work properly. Drugs could also exacerbate this.

At this point in my life, narcotics are long gone from my repertoire, but when I was indulging in them, I knew what to stay away from and I survived. When the parties I was attending went from smoking pot and snorting coke, to smoking crack and snorting heroin, I stopped partying. Clearly the time had come to move away from that scene and unfortunately I lost a few friends who couldn't pull themselves out in time....and let me tell you death can be the better alternative to what some of these people turn in to; zombified, grotesque caricatures of themselves. These people that just leap blindly into that sort of behavior may NOT realize it but they DO have a death wish.

I am not sure why Hollywood puts so much emphasis on accidental versus intentional. Whether it was by accident or on purpose, a person should be smart enough to be able to control themselves and not mix a boatload of drugs together, or consume so much, or whatever....the point is, quit taking so many drugs! /unsure.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':P' />

As for Corey Haim, now they are saying there were no illegal drugs in his system, but it appears the the prescription drugs were from an illegal drug ring. The story keeps changing, as it usually does.

Not to disparage this guy, but if you are coming down off opiates (morphine, heroin, codeine and yes Vicodin/hydrocodone. He does have a history of abusing coke and valium which, technically is a speedball) or trying to break free of it's grips, you would show "flu-like" symptoms. LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Authorities said Friday they had recovered four prescription drug bottles bearing the name of actor Corey Haim but found nothing illegal while investigating his death.

Assistant Chief Coroner Ed Winter declined to identify the drugs. Haim was battling flulike symptoms in the days before he died.

Winter said an autopsy was done Thursday, but his office was awaiting the results of toxicology tests that could take two months before determining a cause of death.

Haim died Wednesday at age 38 after collapsing at his mother's apartment. The actor battled drug addiction for years.

He earned fame for roles in the 1980s films "Lucas" and "The Lost Boys," He recently completed several film projects.

"Access Hollywood" reported on its Web site that Judy Haim had been told by the coroner's office that her son had an enlarged heart and his lungs were filled with water.

Winter confirmed his office had called Judy Haim, but he declined to say what they discussed.
