I personally don't believe his "insanity" was so severe that it made him incapable of not slaying all those people. I read articles featuring his ex's where they claim he was fairly intelligent, like to debate about certain political topics, etc.

I also watched his youtube videos, where he went to local college and complained about everything, saying the school was operating illegally, and how all kids nowadays are illiterate. I think he was suspended from there for threats and generally being an ****.

Jared didn't like Giffords because he thought she was a fake and because she shunned one of his stupid questions like, "what would government be without words?" or some retardedness likened to that.

He obviously did all he could do to change what he saw wrong with the community before murdering six people. Ask a congresswoman a few dumb questions, rant on facebook, and piss and moan in youtube videos.

I think this insanity issue is overrated, when it comes to this types of killing sprees. He planned this, and seemed very aware of what he was doing.

Sometimes, evil actions just are, and will always be. Murder does not always = crazy.

Its sad that this all possibly may have been avoided. Its very obvious the man is insane. And people are talking about how they knew long before. Yet no one did a thing. That meet up in the Safeway parking lot could have gone so different had someone done something. Most problems with people with mental problems getting help are that they do not know they have something wrong. Some do know but most do not (I dont remember the statistic right now, but its amazingly high). So thinking "Oh they will realize and get themselves help." just does not cut it. Sure they were his actions alone. But if you see that someone needs help you need to step up. Would you leave an abused wife in a situation because she "knows he will never do it again"? No. She does not realize she needs the help until you offer and talk with her (not all cases but some). Its sad what happened there that day. Very tragic. For this little girl and all the victims. One man was even committed after released from the hospital because he could not handle all the media and back and forth. What a shame. If this man is not put to death, I hope very much he gets help. Because then at the very least he can start to feel remorse and the horror of his actions. No matter if hes committed or jailed I am certain he will be put away for his life, however long or short that may be.

If he gets death from what I understand he'll sit on death row for awhile.

I've heard even the worst criminals don't take kindly to child killers, their considered the lowest by even other murders.

I think he won't last that long.

Yeah, he'll be sitting around sucking up our tax money, at least until someone shanks him or he does away with himself somehow.

Minor drug offenders already fill our prisons so all in all it's just another inmate we have to take care of for awhile.

I don't always jump on the execution bandwagon for every evil act but this dude deserves whatever he gets and more.

idk if they have the death penalty there or not, but I know its VERY hard to prove insanity. When Mark killed Coach here a couple years ago, everyone knew he was insane long before it happened. It was well known and the proof was given in court, but he still was found guilty. The thing is, you can be crazy and still know what you're doing and that it is wrong. I dont see him getting off. but we sill see.
