After a week of fighting to survive a car crash, stand up comedian and comedy writer Robert "Bob" Schimmel died September 3 at 60 years old.

Bob Schimmel, a comedian recognized for his work on Late Night with Conan O'Brien, HBO and Howard Stern's radio show, was hospitalized in Arizona after he was injured in a car accident on August 26.

The accident occurred when his daughter, Aliyah, 19, swerved to avoid another accident and the car she was driving flipped repeatedly. Father and daughter were both seriously injured, but word is Aliyah is now in stable condition, as is Schimmel's 11-year-old son, who was also in the car, is recovering.
