4 Officers Execution Shooting - WA

Yesterday, Sunday, the worst officer killing to have ever happened in our state took place. /angry.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':(' />

A gunman entered a coffee shop and killed 3 Lakewood Police officers and 1 Sargeant. It was a planned execution. This is the 2nd Officer killing in our state in a month.

Between the 4 killed they have 9 children.

My heart goes out to the families.

Thank you for mentioning this, Regan. My thoughts and prayers go out to the families and officers of the Lakewood police department.

My heart goes out to the families of these officers. May they rest in peace.

As others have mentioned what a tragedy!

It's a shame our legal system is so messed up, because you JUST KNOW they'll get it wrong once it hits the courts.

My thoughts and prayers are with the officers families.

Fomer Ark. Governor Hucakbee really screwed up when he released the guy accused of this heinous crime.

.

Such a tragic mess, my prayers also to their families, looks like they all had kids too. /sad.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':(' /> Why was this creep pardoned? I don't know his background specifically but seems like was fairly violent. Our judicial system is so screwed up. You have clowns like this dude running around free but yet have people locked up for a long time for selling pot. Just recently here in Louisville a guy was released after 15 years for a rape he didn't commit. They didn't have DNA evidence capabilities at the time of his conviction. /sad.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':(' />

"They insisted that the victim animals simply had died of dog bites from dogs or other animals. They suggested that disease might have been responsible for one animal's death. They denied that the victims had been exsanguinated, as many witnesses had claimed, and even suggested that the puncture wounds reported might be from barbed wire. Callers reminded them that some wounds were deep enough to reach into the victims' lungs, that the flesh was not torn as in dog bites, that signs of struggles were inexplicably missing, and that corpses did not decay normally, but their arguments were brushed aside. Also brushed aside were callers' attempts to bring extraterrestrials into the conversation.

When the recording ended. I rewound it and played it again and again. I still could not believe what I was hearing. The callers had the skeptics pinned against the ropes from the very first call." - Scott Corrales

They found him this morning, shot and killed him. That angers me. He needs to stand trial, and face the families he forever changed. Such an easy way out by the cops. /angry.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':(' />

A tragic end to a nightmarish event to be sure. Does the state of Washington have the death penalty?

Yep.

Unless there was something snarky going on, the police appear to have all the evidence they needed to get their conviction. The accused had sustained a wound from one of the felled officers and was in possession of one of their service revolvers…one would think that would be enough to convict….why not "wing" him, bag n tag? Makes one scratch their head.

Hard to know, but even in ambiguity, when looking at the business end of a weapon, I would rather be tried by 12 than carried by 6.

We may never know the true events that took place this morning that ended in his demise, but at least the chain of events is over.

It always seems a little more senseless when the murderer is killed or commits suicide too. Just more open ended without closure as such. I feel sorry for all involved. The whole thing is a sad state of affairs.

The shooter, Maurice Clemons, was shot and killed by a Seattle police officer yesterday. It is said that he would likely have died of his wounds anyway without being shot. He had help from a large group of people (mostly family) who hid him, helped him escape from police, knew of his plan and either abetted or didn't report it, and who treated his wound. Not a single one ever thought of calling the police. I understand loving your family, I do. I would imagine it would be difficult to turn in a loved one – but still. All of these people are now being rounded up, and most will likely be arrested and tried.

They are also saying that his family and friends that aided him called in false leads to the police hotline.

I love my family but if they were wanted for something like this I would be the first one on the phone to the police throwing them under the bus. I guess some people just have no morals, this is pathetic.

They should all be tried and held accountable. Breaking the law for family isn't OK.

I agree. The sheer number of people who helped him is actually pretty shocking.
