I was looking at different sites for ghost hunts and found this:

I’m interested in discussing what people think of the practice of 501 organizations seeking payment to hunt ghosts on their property?
Do you think that shows such as “Ghosthunters,” “Paranoraml State” or “A Haunting” have been a help or a hinderance towards research of paranormal activity?
I think they are both a help and hinderance to varying degrees: It’s a healthy and positive step to bring paranormal investigations into the mainstream as it were, but there is also a down side: I am seeing a culture developing around joining a paranormal investigation group – passing the membership requirements (Some include a review board), fees to join (Some require purchasing group t-shirts) and yearly dues create a ‘club’ atmosphere that I do not think is healthy.
I’m thinking about starting a group without membership requirements beyond a common interest in the paranormal.
