Coping with Sleep Paralysis

By Bruce Darwill

www.Paranormalsurvivalguide.com

There may be times just before falling asleep or when waking up when you find yourself in a not so pleasant situation of being completely physically paralysed and unable to move anything except your eyes. You may also experience a mild to intense vibration inside your body. During this state know as sleep or waking paralysis you can try to shout for help whilst being completely helpless. Furthermore you may experience the nightmare situation where you feel you are and under attack by some sort of ghost or unknown entity.

If you do find yourself in this situation then you have a few choices. Prevention is best but once it has started you can either stop the waking paralysis or convert it to a full or partial out of body experience.

Stopping the waking paralysis

To stop the sleep paralysis you can concentrate all your mind and thoughts on moving your fingers and toes. This will eventually stop the waking paralysis.

Converting to an OBE

During sleep paralysis it is possible to lift your etheric or astral limbs or other parts out of the physical body. It is better if you lift all of yourself out though and there are hundreds of books and webpages that give you techniques on how to get out of your body. Put simply you feel yourself being moved out of your physical body. If you concentrate this will happen and you will find yourself in the astral realms or in the real-time zone.

Preventing waking paralysis

Healthy sleep pattern: If you change your sleep patterns and end up trying to sleep when your mind is not tired then paralysis is more likely to occur.

Catching it before it occurs:

If you feel waking paralysis about to happen (very deep falling sensation) you can suddenly move your physical body to prevent it. You may find that when going back to sleep the sensations start again. At this point it is best to get up and do something physical for about 10-15 minutes.

Encounters with other beings:

There are many cases where people have felt pressure on their chest or witnessed a creepy shadow figure at the end of the bed. Scientists put this down to hallucinations but can this be the case for all the thousands of people who experience these phenomena? During the paralytic state the body still feels emotions, pain, and all senses just as in normal physical life. It would make sense for scientists to try having these experiences before dismissing this phenomenon.  The truth is the truth regardless of how it is perceived. It is total ignorance to believe we are the only beings in existence.
